In 2024, we invested 12% of annual net sales in R&D. Our DNA is built on scientific rigour and genuine care for patients. By consistently investing a significant share of our resources in research and development, we work to bring forward medicines that have a meaningful impact across a broad spectrum of skin conditions. Our goal is not only to treat symptoms, but also to improve long-term outcomes and quality of life.

5.1% of workforce dedicated to R&D

With 5.1% of our workforce – 267 highly specialised scientists – dedicated to R&D, we are able to explore new ideas, technologies and modes of treatment at pace. We listen carefully to patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals to understand both the physical burden and emotional impact of skin diseases. These insights guide our research, helping us to anticipate future needs and to co-create solutions with leading academic institutions and industry partners.

Our way of doing R&D

We currently help to improve the lives of millions of people in more than 100 countries. Our cutting-edge R&D centre in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain) brings together multidisciplinary teams who collaborate closely to move discoveries efficiently from the laboratory to the clinic. By combining robust science, advanced technology and strong external partnerships, we strive to deliver breakthrough dermatology treatments that address unmet medical needs and raise the standard of care.
