Women Advancing Science

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the lasting impact women have on medical dermatology and scientific innovation. Progress in science goes beyond data and discoveries—it is driven by diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences that enrich collaboration and help shape the future of skin health.
Advancing science also means leading with competence and empathy. Women in science are not only driving innovation; they are fostering inclusive environments where ideas are shared and progress is built together. At Almirall, we believe that when different perspectives come together, science becomes stronger and more meaningful for patients.
In line with this commitment, we launched dedicated campaigns for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and for International Women’s Day, reinforcing the visibility of women’s contributions across our organization and beyond. To mark these moments, we asked our colleagues: “What does it mean to be a woman advancing science?” Their reflections highlight resilience, curiosity, and a shared commitment to moving science forward—together. Their voices remind us that progress in medical dermatology is built through collaboration and diversity.
This commitment also extends to the future. Recently, our R&D site opened its doors for a special on-site event, welcoming colleagues’ families for a day of experiments and scientific discovery. By sparking curiosity and making science tangible, we aimed to inspire the next generation and bring our purpose to life.
Join us in celebrating the women who are shaping the present—and future—of medical dermatology.
