Steve Webber, new Senior Discovery Director for Almirall
Barcelona, 16 April 2009.- Almirall announces the appointment of Steve Webber as Senior Discovery Director, reporting to the Executive Director for R&D, Dr. Per Olof Andersson at the Almirall R&D Centre in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona). This appointment further strengthens the research team and is another example of Almirall’s commitment to enhancing its R&D area.
Dr. Webber brings to the position extensive experience within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in respiratory disease.
Steve Webber has a PhD in Pharmacology from the University College London and post-doctoral training at St George's Hospital Medical School in London. In 1992 he started his pharmaceutical industry career at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer (RPR), holding a variety of positions of responsibility in the R&D area and progressing to become Vice President of Respiratory and Rheumatologic Diseases at RPR/Aventis. Before joining Almirall he was Vice President of Respiratory Biology for the Respiratory and Inflammation Centre of Excellence for Drug Discovery at GlaxoSmithKline.
