Barcelona, 13 March 2008.- Almirall announces the appointment of Israel García, former General Manager of Portugal, as new General Manager of Mexico. The company has also named Mª Eugenia Vellvé as new General Manager of Portugal. With these two appointments the pharmaceutical company consolidates its international upper management team.
Israel García has a degree in Mathematics from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an MBA from the Interactive Open University. He joined the company in 1998 working first in the Operating Area as Area Manager for the sales force and Division Sales Director in Spain. In 2004 he took on the position of General Manager in Portugal, which has afforded him comprehensive experience in sales and global management.
Mª Eugenia Vellvé has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona and in Business Studies from Bellevue University in Washington (USA). She has extensive experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry where she has held a variety of positions in marketing and business management areas. She joined Almirall in 2002 as Affiliates Manager, including interim Management of the affiliates in Germany and France and providing support to the integration of the recently acquired dermatology company Hermal in Almirall Germany.
