Almirall presents its new corporate website

Through online recruiting, Almirall’s new corporate website, www.almirall.es aims to secure commitments from the best professionals from all over the world for its working centres in Europe and Latin America.

 

Almirall’s new website provides extensive information on the company and its products, as well as the processes of researching and developing new pharmaceutical products. It also provides health care information.

 

Almirall, the first Spanish pharmaceutical multinational, presents the new design of its website, www.almirall.es, which is available to all health care professionals as well as to the general public.

 

Almirall’s new website provides detailed information on the company, its products and its processes of research and development. It also has a specific section devoted to job opportunities as well as general tips for staying healthy.

 

In the section entitled Our Company, we tell all about Almirall. Among other aspects, our most important historic landmarks, objectives and the company’s working centres are all featured.

 

In its section on Products, the website presents data on products Almirall manufactures and sells, with special emphasis on our own internally researched and developed pharmaceutical products resulting from our pro-research mission: almotriptan (anti-migraine), ebastine (antihistamine), aceclofenac (anti-inflammatory), almagate (antacid), cinitapride (gastroprokinetic), clebopride (gastroprokinetic), and piketoprofen (anti-inflammatory).

 

Work with us

Almirall has included on its new corporate website a new section called Work with Us, where the company reveals the secret to its success: a top-notch human resources team. In order to continue securing commitments from the best professionals in both Europe and Latin America, Almirall has broadened access to its job opportunities by making use of the electronic medium.

 

Emphasis on R&D

 

There is also a specific section on R&D which summarises the areas of research and their avenues of work, the main molecules being researched, as well as the stages involved in the research and development of a product.

 

In 2002, Almirall’s investment in research and development was 90 million euros, 61.4% higher than the amount invested in fiscal year 2001 (56 million euros). Its forecast for the current fiscal year is 97 million euros, and its overall estimate for the upcoming five years in the area of R&D totals 490 million euros.

 

Cuida tu salud

 

Under the slogan Cuida tu salud (Take care of yourself),the website provides patients with a link that contains up-to-date information (available in Spanish only) on staying healthy. Among other features, it includes recommendations for alleviating migraines, allergies and asthma. It also provides links to other related websites.

 

Almirall

 

The main aim of Almirall, the first Spanish multinational pharmaceutical, is to provide society with innovative drugs to combat discomfort and disease, thus helping to improve health and quality of life. To this end, it constantly devotes the maximum human and financial resources to researching new products.

 

The company’s main research fields are those areas related to the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, allergies, atopic dermatitis, arthritis and gastrointestinal disorders.

 

At the end of fiscal year 2002, the staffing people totalled 2,843 employees, of whom 508 work in R&D. Global estimates for staffing in 2003 is for 3,256 people, with an R&D team of 532 people.

 

The company also has five research centres and six manufacturing plants, as well as branch offices in the main cities of Spain and subsidiaries in Europe and Latin America.

 

Its annual production forecast for this year is over 94 million units, and products resulting from its own R&D are marketed in over 80 countries around the world.
