Advancing Medical Dermatology: Innovation Through Partnerships in China

We are strengthening our global innovation ecosystem with the opening of new offices in Shanghai, located in the Jing’an district. This new presence reflects our long‑term commitment to advancing medical dermatology through collaboration, scientific exchange, and strategic partnerships.

The Shanghai offices focus on life‑science innovation and business development, identifying programmes and technologies that complement our strong in‑house R&D capabilities. By connecting our own scientific expertise with China’s evolving life‑sciences ecosystem, we aims to expand our innovation potential and accelerate the development of differentiated dermatology treatments for patients worldwide.

The opening was marked by the event “Advancing innovation in dermatology with partnerships in China,” which brought together industry leaders, institutional representatives, and partners from China. Discussions highlighted the value of cross‑border collaboration in addressing unmet needs in medical dermatology. Our strategy builds on proven partnerships in the region, including our collaboration with Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, as well as a separate agreement to expand the commercial footprint in China. 

While expanding globally, our R&D remains rooted in Barcelona, with our center in Sant Feliu de Llobregat continuing to serve as the core of pipeline development. The Shanghai offices complement this foundation, reinforcing our vision of innovation without borders, always guided by our purpose of transforming patients’ lives.
