Health and Safety
The health and safety of our staff are clearly a priority. That is why we dedicate considerable resources to implementing our occupational risk prevention policy. We regularly conduct assessments on the occupational risks of all work sites and workstations, checking specific issues to ascertain compliance with safety at work, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and psycho-sociology. Likewise, we periodically review our health and safety performance through both internal and external audits.
Almirall's workforce is fully trained to identify risks and execute measures to prevent them. A number of prevention and awareness campaigns are regularly conducted. For example, our global 'Safety on the road' awareness campaign received the International Fleet Safety Award in 2012.
To promote a healthy lifestyle among our employees, fitness equipment is installed at our centres and healthy, fresh food is served in our canteens.
Health and Safety Certification
As a result of these efforts, Almirall holds the prestigious OHSAS 18001:2007 international certificate awarded by TÜV Rheinland, for compliance with international health and safety standards in Spain (since 2007) and Germany (since 2013). This stringent certification covers the R&D, manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and manufacture and wholesale of drug products.
One Unified Policy
Almirall's health and safety, environmental and energy policies have been amalgamated into a single, integrated management system, regularly updated, and certified by TÜV Rheinland.
